I use citric acid to dissolve scale from my boiler, and have tried CLR and it worked well. Anyone know of any warnings against using CLR in a radiator flush? CLR is heavily advertised on TV to elimi

CLR contains phosphoric acid. Acids are very good at removing oxides because they chemically remove the oxygen from them. Acids also remove metals. The reaction is fairly slow for iron but very fast

Chris, You will probably find that the flush does not really help matters at all. What you probably need to do is to have the radiator taken out and rodded as you suggested. You might also try having
