I seem to keep having trouble with the black paint wanting to lift off the brass radiator top tank. -It starts around the filler and progresses... Other than stripping and scuffing the surface before

You have to use good quality engine paint on the tank. It gets very hot and expands and contracts... regular paints won't stick to the tank long term. Regards, Alan '53 BN1 '64 BJ8 On 8/30/05, david

Once the previous paint has been stripped, etch the copper , and paint with a good flat black paint. If you do not etch the copper the paint will peel. Kind regards Ed Saskatoon www.vintage-sportscar
