Their are probably people here much mure qualified than I to answer this. So this just my guess/opinion. I think the NASCAR flaps are primarily to keep the car from lifting when it is going backward

It seems to me rails and flaps are something that fixes an existing problem, after the fact. Nascar's turn and get bumped, we don't. Adding an anchor would help also. I believe its a design problem.
