Does anyone know the reason for riveting the rear panel into the back of the convertible compartment. I am installing a new interior and it appears that it would work fine to just use contact cement

Riveting? Contact cement? I would think you would want to use trim screws. I've never removed this panel, but from my experience with the interior in general, it is best to make all items removable i
