Just got the rear end apart. Yikes. The pinion is gone completely--a smooth cone. Clearly I lost the oil--looks like the plug fell out. Stupid. Guess I'll see what a 3.7 feels like. At least I won't

Thanks for all the suggestions. I pretty much faked it, and I think it came out okay. I have .006 lash, and the pinion mark looks reasonably close to the middle of the tooth, on both drive and overru
