Yes, the hub nuts are "handed", just like wire wheel knock-offs. About the only way to get them on/off is with a 1 7/8 " socket. It is almost impossible with an open end wrench, slip-joint pliers, et

They are like wire wheels, side specific. I forget which way for which side. I just remember the side specific thing...........

You can get a 3/4" socket set from Harbor Freight for 40 bucks, sometimes on sale, check their web site. The set has a 1-7/8ths socket included with it, plus you get 15 other sockets ranging from 7/8

Normal nut is marked MOWOG, whilst the opposite-direction-from-normal is marked UNSHF

the The hub nuts on mine, i found after cleaning off, are marked RH and LH I had an old wrench we called a monkey wrench. After grinding about 1/8" off one spot it fit perfect. R.Sexson 74.5 B 74 Mid
