Hi Dave I did a quick check and found the shock mounting plates for the BN1 & BN2, BN4-BJ7, & BJ8 offered in the British Car Specialists (Kilmartin Sheetmetal) catalog Marion S. Brantley, Jr. 727/867

Yep, probably the worst design flaw on a healey. wrong shock mounts. The trick with them is to tighten them down with mega torque. It actually works... they have to be very tight but it will hold. I

After my frame was sand blasted I found that not only were several of the bolt holes oval but there were small stress cracks at the edge of two holes. The cracks were hidden by the old paint and dirt

Dave: I reamed the bolt holes in the rear shocks and mounts for a snug fit for the next size bolt (7/16-20 I believe). Used high-strength allen head bolts. Been good for several years. Keep 'em tight
