is it normal to have to remove the gas tank to remove the right rear shackle? the "U" opens outward, and there doesn't seem to be enough room to slide it our with the gas tank in place. (if anyone is

Hi Patton, I could never think of a really good reason why it is pointed outward, It may be so that if the end plate shears off the spring does not punture the gas tank? You do not need to remove the
