I have a 1500 engine that needs a rebuild. I have never rebuilt an engine; however, I have some mechanicing abilities. I wonder if one should attempt to rebuild an MGA motor if one has never done one

John Twist's tech manual has good info on rebuilding A and B engines. Bought one from him about a year ago...thing for around $20.00. You might contact him to see if he still has some. VRHS43A@prodig

If this is your first time, I'd strongly recommend insuring that you have access to someone who is a reliable source of engine lore. There are a lot of little fiddles that are not in the manual. BMC

Get two things: A really, really, really good machine shop and a Haynes MGA manual (if you can find one). I rebuilt my 1962 MGA (1622) engine a few years ago with no experience and no one to help me
