I have located a rebuilt (not yet run) 1098 and rib case tranny near here that I can get for about $1800. I was thinking of a 1275 for my bugeye but this seems like it might be a good deal less expen

Hello Hal, a rebuild for the 1098 including such things as listed (but not as many) cost me well over that $1800 figure.. i had $1600 in parts alone! there is discussion about the relative merits of

Sounds like a nicely prepared motor. If it's the larger bearing "CC" (rather than the earlier smaller bearing "CG"), it would (IMHO) make a nice town/suburban street motor. The 1098 are "torque" rath
