I'm not entirely fluent on the vagaries of Civics. But the reason why alot of cars are classed together in SP is the update/backdate allowances. For the Civic, they're probably all basically a 1500cc

Remember because of the update/backdate rule in SP you could swap motors. Or you could do what the fast guys do and start with the big motor car and substitute lighter parts from the small motor mode

That's right. In SP, you can swap engine/transmission combinations as long as the car is on the same line in the rule book. That means, for my car ('90 CRX Si) I can buy the lightest chassis ('88 HF)
