- Hi Cliff... Those Rheostats are somewhat repairable.. you can bend back the little tabs and take them apart... and even without a lot of electrical knowledge... you can often see what the problem is.

- Cliff, No need to add a resister, just connect the wires together. I did that to mine about 6 years ago, and just completely removed the dimmer. In its place, I added a VDO clock, which doesn't look
