I have a tired 260 in my 67 Tiger and am thinking about replacing it with a 302 from Ford Motorsports. Living in California, I called up the Bureau of Automotive Repair with the usual smog questions

California only, Curious, if you own a '66 or newer vehicle but it has a pre-'66 engine, could DMV be persuaded to qualify the car as exempt from the bi-annual smog check? Wishful thinkin' but always

If I remeber correctly they are still building them and putting them in I'd agree on the water pump. The serpentine belts drive them backwards I= think. Why not go with a M-6007-A50 long block from M
