There was at least one design change for these filler caps during the MGB-GT V-8 production run - chrome bumper cars had grey colored caps and rubber bumper cars had orange ones. Also, according to M

Does anyone know where I can get the plastic oil cap that goes in the stock MG V-8 rocker cover. It screws into the rocker cover. Joe Potter

Mine (factory car) is plastic-coated (orange) steel. I needed a new one as I (ahem) allowed it to fall onto a manifold unnoticed where it proceeded to melt off all the plastic. My usual V8 parts man
