According to details I have:- 1962 to 1970, MGB cylinderheads were casting number 48G318, with a 1.562" dia inlet valve, ( 18G through to 18GG) double valve springs. 1970 to 1975 they were 12H2708, (

Dear John, I physically have a 12H2708 head, and a tatty 12H4735 in the garage, so can check them. The number you quote needed more effort. My younger brother has a 1964 'pull-handle' MGB with a 18GB

John & Niel, Curiouser and curiouser....... The head on my '69 USA-spec roadster is casting # 12H1326 but is apparently not the original as it doesn't have air-injection ports per all the info I can

Yes, the USA spec engines had different heads, the MGB sold on the European market used the 1800 Landcrab & later Marina head. Those for the states had terrible things like air pumps, etc. My HAYNES
