Changing the rear axle will not lower the car. You will also need to replace the handbrake cable (which will also not lower the car, unfortunately). Changing the front-cross member will lower the car

Yes you can do this but the 78 axle has brackets for the anti sway bar welded on to it. You can remove them by cutting the weld and then re weld them. the conversion won't alter the heigth. Also you

One more thought their is also a small bracket that the brake line attaches to that would have to be changed and you will need to make a new bracket for the emergency brake cable. This can be done by
