There was a rotary powered MGB in the Special Interst Sports classification for the Gathering, in Winston-Salem NC, April of this year. It ran, body/interior needed work. Sounded like a rotary engine

This conversion has been made on at least one first-generation Sprite. The owner has set aside and preserved all the original machinery. The installation is tidy; the engine and trans fit right in. N

I once saw a Rotus, that's a Lotus Super 7 with a rotary, Came from England like that. So rotary power is not a new concept in LBC's or FLBC's (F for Fast)

The current issue of Grassroots Motorsports has an article on their ongoing Spitfire/Rotary conversion. They're also using the mazda 5 speed tranny.

The 13b was first available on the RX-7 between 84-85 on the GSL-SE. These cars are rare, so unless you find one in the junkyard, I wouldn't mess with it. You can find a 13b in any year from 86-96, h
