Or Greasy Rubber...Is there a rubber grease that I can use on the inside of a radiator hoset? For some reason the lower hose really sticks to the alloy radiator and the last two times I have removed

I do!! But I call em pliers. That's what I use to remove cotter pins. And you are right, I have used pliers (big suckers) to remove hoses before. Pliers, screwdrivers, and a knife as a last resort ;)

the actual "cotter pin removal tool" is a very oddly shaped tool. it has a screwdriver handle and it resembles a bizarrely contorted awl. it was at one time a standard tool that came wtith evry sears

The problem is how do you "work the cotter pin tool's end up under the hose between the hose and the fitting it's stuck on. working the tool around the fitting allows the hose to come completly free"
