you are progably running too rich. When my Midget was prettified for sale, the guy took off the Monza muffler and put on something cheap and quiet (therefore restrictive). This made the car run too r

My MGA 1600 mark II runs on too. I use 92 octane. My kids love it! I hate it. I put the car in 4th gear and let out on the clutch while holding the brake pedal down. Don Mathis
