For those still interested in this topic: Chevy has two short deck small blocks. The #24502650 at 8.300" (can be machined to 8.200") and uses the Olds Aurora V8 bellhousing. Also the #12480050 @ 8.70

OK Dave, with a 2.5" stroke and 5" rods I guess we need the 8.200" deck block for the "E". And with a 2.93" stroke and 5.57" rods it looks like the 8.500" deck block for the "D". As for an "F". What
