Yes, the center of a standard 23 degree SBC head is a hot spot-- two exhaust valves are side-by-side and this raises the temperature of the head in that area. Adding extra coolant lines to that area

I am convinced that they are worth it! After switching to gasoline, I found cooling the engine to be a problem. After installing the lines, I notice a very different heat pattern on the head gasket
