By all mean remove the top. Remove the screws mounting the rear of the top to the body and then remove the top from the hinge in the door A-post. No big deal. You can also just remove the A-post hing

Dan: I had my frame bead blasted then powder coated gray. It looks great and will be more chip resistant. I had a harder time finding the webbing material for the frame. If you need some, let me know

Go to any fabric store (Like Minnesota Fabrics) and look in the reuphostrey area. You'll find the exact duplicate of the rubberized straps used on the frame except they must be dyed black. Available
