- I decided to refurbish a pair of SU carbs that I had on the shelf that I plan to use for a back up. One of the pistons is stuck. I have cleaned it in stoddard solvent, then have soaked it real well

- If the WD40 didn't work, you're really stuck. Try brake fluid or ATF fluid. Sometimes a good temp change will do it, like stick it in the oven at 200*F, or the freezer (but not just after the oven!).

- a couple of thoughts, check the outside of the SU see if it looks like the po has used a hammer on it. I admit to doing so myself and it always cleared up my problem, until I had to take it appart. I
