Hey listers, My rear piston on my SU carbs at any RPM is about a 1/4 inch higher than the front one. I have tried all the screws, and have even adjusted the mixture to cure this problem. My question

It could be that the jet is not centered. This would cause the needle to rub up against the jet enough to keep the piston from making that nice "thunking" sound as it falls all the way to the bottom.

Could it be...my front piston is a 1/4" LOWER than the rear? Then look for vacuum leaks. All the air the engine wants must go through the carb throat to lift the piston. Any leakage after the piston

i found the easiest way to center a jet is to loosen it first, check the needle is installed correctly, make sure the piston is all the way down, take your thumb and press against the part of the pi
