The sides of the float bowls are dry. The leak is from fuel left in the bowl after the engine is shut off. And appears to come from the lower jet assembly. Thanks, Dave.

The cork gasket is generally not a problem , but you need to remember to soak it in oil for about 2 hours, overnight is generally better. This aids in getting the gasket on as well as making it seal
