I'm looking for a pair of early (circa 1957) sand-cast Weber 40 DCOE carbs for a Lotus Eleven (#275) that was originally so equipped. Any out there? Brett Johnson

I think the carbs you're talking about are the 40 DCO 3 type. I am running them on a Formula Junior. Trust me, the DCOE is a MUCH better carb. The story I heard was that representatives of Alfa Romeo

The sand-cast Webers also have a problem with the throttle shafts wearing out so they constantly go out of adjustment. They do have that certain je ne sais quoi, though, for us Alfa people, don't th

You want je ne sais quoi, go look under the hood of a big Maserati from the 50's. They used THREE of those sand cast wonders, and a larger size too. I use a pair of 40 DCO 3 carbs on a Fiat 1100 Form
