Seeking advice on an upcoming project. I have acquired a TR3 with surface rust but the body is very sound. A restoration was started some years ago and then the car wound up pushed out into a field.

Don't sandblast. Too risky. Have it bead blasted with plastic beads, or perhaps soda blasted. It takes longer, but it works and won't screw up the metal. I had mine bead blasted, and it came out gre

If you're just dealing with surface rust, you can use a sander to strip the car and remove the rust. You're going to want to use a metal conditioner on the bare metal to neutralize any remaining rus
