I'm restoring my radio console and other items on the middle hump. Most of the really small screws had been replaced by a few metal screws. I would like to replace them with the proper machine screws

HMM, the standard size #4 machine screw is 4-40. This is the size of the set screws in the knobs. a good source for machine screws is mcmaster-carr. You can get nice stainless screws in useable quant

What year? 2 alternate possibilities: Whitworth (unlikely) or metric, post '67(.5?) I know I should be shot for this, but there are times that a tap and die make a difficult problem... easy... Toby

Thanks to all for the help on the screw sizes. First, I wasn't sure whether they were metric or English. Is there a general rule for the Roadster as to what areas have which? Second, the screw holes

since we're talking screw sizes, maybe someone out there could help me. i've lost track of the screws that hold the headlight chrome on. can anyone tell me what to use? thanks!
