Umm, you just take out and replace the four bolts, right? What's the problem with that? Slide the seat all the way forward to access the rear bolts, then all the way to the rear to access the front b

I don't know if the seats are different or not, but getting them off wasn't much of a problem although I did slide them all the way forward and back and the bolts were partially blocked by the seats

I just redid my seats on my '78. Note that although the tops are the same, the seats (bottoms) differ between left and right side and may be so marked on the cushions you get. - Tab

Oh, you know, I think you are correct. I also found that using a long extension (long enough to get the ratchet above the seat cushion) let me turn the bolts more easily. You're right about the slide
