Jack (Simon) - BT7s don't have a booster but nice thought. Your compression in 1 is much too low. Take the head off first to inspect the gasket. Is the smoke black or white? Does it smell like water

The fact that the compression comes up 40% when you add oil would seem to indicate that the rings are not seated. You should only see an increase if the rings are leaking. Either that or...How much o

I stand corrected! Does the smoke smell sweet? If you pull the vacuum tube that goes to the booster off of the intake manifold, does the smoking stop or reduce?? If so.. it's a booster problem Regard
