Matt, Just to throw one more options in, I've been pretty happy with hydraulic jack oil. I think it has the same anti-foaming as the ATF and power steering fluid. Scott

The MGA shop manual says to use 20w regular oil if you can't find shock oil. I think the suggestion of using motorcycle fork oil is the best. ...
