On some older model cars the headlamp reflector had a servo that actually did DIP the headlamp. The M.G. P Type is one example. Mark Dement '35 M.G. PA

Well, I'll take a stab at this but "dipping" may predate my knowledge....My TA has "dipping" headlights.....that is the one on the near side....it literally Dips, that is the reflector and the bulb r

I always got a kick out of the "dip" switch for selecting the highbeams on the headlamps. Does anyone know where and how that term originated and how it applies to using your brights? It seems to me
