It doesn't matter whether there is air in the line or not, since it is a pressure that is being transmitted to the gauge, my mini always has air in the gauge, but comes on straight away. Giles

I don't know anything about air in the lines, but the oil pressure sensor on my '64 B goes up immediately just turning the engine over. I don't remember seeing, or reading about a valve of sorts on
