I've noticed a rhythmic scraping noise from my speedo cable, especially as I slow down. Can I buy a little time by just adding some gear oil to the upper end of the speedo cable, or should I just go

I'd try graphite powder (for locks) before I'd try oil... FWIW, I've been driving my old Volvo for so long that when the speedo went wonky, I found I didn't need it so muh since I could guess within

Once my speedo was flaky, working one day and not the next. It turned out that the flex cable was not getting turned at all by the gear in the tranny. The fitting at the end of the cable was too smal
