All this mail about Spit/GT-6 conversions is nice. I really like the looks of the GT-6, especially the + version (MkII for limeys). I have owned both spits and GT-6's, of various years, as well as TR

I agree, Greg, about 98 percent. I don't think, depending on the year, that I'd want to use the pre-1971 non-synchro-first Spit tranny on the conversion, nor would I really want any of the various 4.
