this is how we do it at southwind motorsports complex.. don't remove it.. cut off the ends of the "cotter" pin until your 6 sided socket (preferably 1/2" drive) fits over it. crank on the sucker, the

If you are NOT saving the king pin, just run the nut over it. The split pins are pretty soft, and almost always will not prevent you from reusing the king pin, or the nut. Just trim the split pin sh
