Just for the record, a Mustang straight six and three speed will fit a '64 Spridget just fine if you reshape the firewall slightly, weld up the stock carb flange and weld three SU flanges on the side

I think my vision would be a lengthened front end with a lengthened bugeye bonnet, to give an e-type look to it. A little extra leg room would be nice though. And, no, I'm not going to attempt it. I'
