- Call wherever you buy your car batteries and ask them if they will check your battery. Most of these places will do it for free. In fact, the garage across the street from me used to charge mine up

- Philip, Yes, I recommend taking the car to an auto parts store and let them test the battery. They have the proper equipment to correctly test the battery, and usually will do it for free. Of course,

- You will really have to pop a voltmeter across the battery terminals when the engine is running at fast idle. If you see 14.something volts then you are charging OK, so suspect the battery or connect

- Go to a super large chain store, around here that would be Canadian Tire. The reason is that the guy who is testing your battery will be a high school kid making minimum wage. He'll be plenty compete
