I found the easiest way was to, believe it or not, remove the intake and exhaust manifolds (or header in my case). Without taking the header off, I cannot remove the starter. Best of luck, Matt Silv

I recommend cutting out the metal triangular plate, I think it at most keeps dirt off, and if that is all it does it can be glued back on after R/R. With it on in an early, its impossible to remove t

That's how I've always done it. With the SU's, you can have the manifold/carb assembly off in 45 minutes easily. As Matt stated, you may not be able to get the starter out without unbolting the heade
