- Tom, I did this last week with success. Remember to remove the U joint bolts not just loosen them but remove them. They have a groove that lock the shaft. Other than that the hole column should slide

- The bolt is removed..I figuired the shaft was ovaled out to keep the u-joint and shaft turning together. My guess is rust is holding the two together. I'll put some WD-40 on it tonight, and if need b
