Guys I know it is against the book but know you know why I use grease!! My A40 called for oil too but it leaks out and the seal for that steering box is unobtainium. 27 years of greasing Sprite steer

I had the same problem.Never did get it to stop completely,no matter what I did,until I followed Frank's suggestion and put grease in the rack and just let the rest of the 140W oil leak out. No probl

The steering rack in Spridgets (early cars) came from the factory with 90 wt gear oil in them. These days 140 wt gear oil is recommended. The reason is; the two dampers that remove the backlash at b
