Sorry I made a slight error in my note about pulling the lower extension. As shown in Section J page 7 of the Shop manual, the slot inside the steering column should be at the 12 o'clock position not

I figured the 6 o'clock position was as viewed while in the normal 180 degree inverted position one assumes when effecting this repair. ;-) Bob
