O Wise Ones! Has anyone modified their TR6 steering shaft to remove the rubber steering flex coupling? I race my car and would feel safer if I had another universal joint at this connection. Any sugg

The TR6s that I know of, have mechanical u-joints. I converted my TR4 over from the rubber couplers (although I raced with them for 12 years) to TR6 couplers. If not available used they are available

As far as I know, TR6 came with a metal u-joint at the bottom and a one at the top. I always use the lower metal u-joint in both locations. I also used the same set up on my TR4. Does away with the p

I know what Allen's talking about. My TR6 has a rubber flex coupling on the top and a u-joint thingie on the bottom. I heard that it was the TR4 that had u-joints at both ends stock !! Hugh Barber Ho

My 250's steering shaft has a "T" on the steering shaft at the top rubber coupling. In order to put a u joint there I will need a TR4 steering shaft, this might be the setup on his TR6. -- Ed Major '

I spoke too soon about TR6s when my knowledge is about TR4s. That being said, I have an extra TR4 steering shaft if someone needs one for any reason.

I love their stuff--they make the prettiest universal joints in the world. Collapsible and telescoping shafts. Very nice stuff. I replaced the shaft in my cheater TR3 with a Borgeson telescoping shaf
