OK, so Sonja (my TR-4, for those who don't know her) is headed for an engine transplant. Without going the BFE new pulleys, new belts, harmonic dampener way, can I remove her engine driven fan? I can

What speaks against unbolting the fan, refitting the bolts, checking they are not fouling now there is less thickness and doing it that way? Not that I would be too familiar with the TR4, but... Gern

I had a machine shop shorten the extension. Rewelded the fan flange onto the flange which attaches to the pulley, and it has worked just fine. I also had the bolt shortened. D. Brown
