Don't even think of rebuilding the stock booster. Swap in the small diameter Midland unit, it's cast iron and fits much better than the one size fits all Girling unit that's available. See it install

There are many routes to take as Larry pointed out. Certainly the easiest is to return the system to stock with a rebuilt brake booster. If you choose not purchase a stock brake booster you can buy
