I've found it better to store cars with antifreeze than drain them. Lack of a total system fill leads to rusting of the waterpump seal causing a leak later. The block tends to grow rusty fuzz that tu

Didn't know about that -- thanks. Current plans are to do a frame off and rebuild the engine, so I suppose it doesn't matter in that event, but it will be a while before that happens and plans can ch

I agree, but don't forget that the coolant should still be changed every few years even if the engine is not run. The corrosion inhibitors still wear out with time. Randall Y

Any comments on using a water pump lubricant and corrosion inhibitor rather than changing the coolant. Zerex Water Pump Lubricant & Protector (Prevents Rust and Corrosion) for example. Don Malling
