I have a question for the group. I want to switch top frames on my 1973 MGB to one of the early stowable (tinker toy) types. I am also about to buy a new top. Can I put the early stowable top frame

I use a fold-up during the winter and a stowable in the summer, utilizing old, replaced, zip-out tops on the stowable frame. The frame is a bit high for the later top, and must be shortened, which is

The top frame will interchange with no problems. The later top as previously noted, is shorter than the stowaway. I do not think you would be happy with the fit of the later top on the early frame.
