Hello All, Well, I thought my Spitfire was smiling at me because of it's new O/D. Turns out it was one of those looks you give when revenge is on your mind. I'm having a strange electrical failure, w

How about a funky hazard light switch? Try actuating the hazard switch on-off about a dozen times. Then see if your gremlins disappear. Costs nothing to try. Atwell Haines '79 Spitfire

I actually did turn the hazard off and on a few times. It seems the hazards keep working even when the regular turn signals (and other stuff) fail. Is this a clue that the hazard is the problem?? Da

you STILL have a problem at the fuse box. My GT6 has the same problem. My Volkswagen has a similar malady... The tape deck will stop when there is insufficient voltage to run the amp and/or tape tra

Dave, The circuit path for the turn signals goes 'through' the hazard (4-way flasher) switch. If the hazard sw. contacts offer up a high resistance, the turn signals can operate slowly or not at all.

Well, based on all the suggestions (thanks again, everyone!) there are quite a few things for me to check. I know there is something shorting out where the wiring comes out of the fusebox, so I'll st

Dave, All of the items you mention as not working are fed from the same circuit and the same fuse. Theses items are fed by a green wire. The other items you mentioned as working are on seperate circu

'on'. Atwell, You did well! A very good explaination. I would only add one thing to it, and that is the reason the turn signals receive their power through the hazard switch. On the surface, this see

Thanks <blush> I resisted throwing the Lucas Smoke Theory in there... the hazard flasher, but you didn't turn off the turn signal. Immediately, the wipers, fan, and the radio start pulsing on and off

I always wondered why it worked that way. I remember listening to the radio (or my Uncle's Beatles 8-track) in the car for a long time using that technique. ... he always wondered why the battery was
