If lateral acceleration was sufficient to noticeably distort your wire wheels, they are in serious trouble. Get that car up on jacks, and see if you can wobble the rims by hand. Then try the "plink"

Check for broken spokes. Lift each wheel and check thoroughly for play of the wheel onto the hub. I had two broken spokes last year - fixed these and it's o.k., but one wheel really should be done by
