If you have the rack out, take it to just about any shop and have them take the tie-rods off for you. It will take them two minutes if they have a good torch and they'll probably only charge you $5.

The tie-rod ends screw onto a shaft with two flats on it. If the rack is out of the car you should put this shaft in a vice at the point where the flats are. Then you can take a great big wrench and
